Alaina Beverly
Assistant Vice President for Urban Affairs at the University of Chicago, Former Obama White House Office of Urban Affairs Official, and frequent MSNBC political commentator. Alaina Beverly is an expert in politics, urban policy, civil rights, and community mobilization with over 15 years of experience in electoral politics and government relations. A frequent commentator on MSNBC, Alaina regularly provides insights on race and electoral politics. Alaina began her career as a voting rights attorney for the NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund and Advancement Project. She left the practice of law to serve as a political operative for the 2008 Obama for America Campaign where she executed political engagement strategies for primaries in South Carolina, Connecticut, Ohio, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Michigan. During the General Election, Alaina served as the National Deputy Director of African American Outreach. After the 2008 electoral victory, Alaina joined the Obama Administration as Associate Director for the White House Office of Urban Affairs. In that role, she laid the foundation for President Obama’s urban office by identifying scalable models to make cities more sustainable, competitive and inclusive. She also served as a Principal at The Raben Group, a public policy firm in Washington DC. In her current role as Assistant Vice President for Urban Affairs at the University of Chicago, Alaina is the founding director of Urban America Forward, an annual convening of national leaders committed to furthering equity and economic inclusion in cities. She is a graduate of Stanford University and Michigan Law School.

Anthony Copeman is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI), founder and Chief Visionary of Financial Lituation, a digital platform to help young people reinvent their finances and reimagine their freedom. He’s committed to helping young people think differently about the way money can be used as a tool so they can live the lives they were created to live. Anthony believes that wealth is a manifested in the mind before presented in the form of money, and has built his brand on that principle. Inspired to present personal finance from a relevant, fun and unique perspective, Anthony created an animation series called, $hares to help young people learn about money and empower them to make well informed financial decisions. $hares has been featured in Black Enterprise as one of the 7 Black Millennial Experts To Follow On Instagram in 2019. Anthony’s distinct financial perspective has appeared on The Grio, Black Enterprise, Experian, Credit Karma, Fox Business, Newsweek, Go Banking Rates, Chime Bank, and several other outlets. Anthony is a Harlem, New York native and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Temple University.

Arthur Cox
A native to Louisville, Kentucky and a United States Air Force Veteran, Arthur Cox has worked as Executive Director of St. George’s for over 15 years. In 2004, he led the successful organizational transformation from a recreational hangout into one of the premier educational after-school and summer program for youth in West Louisville, where it still thrives today. Arthur earned a Bachelors Degree in Sports Management from the University of Louisville. He has served as numerous youth development committees and coalitions within the community. He’s trained in Outcome Measurement, Youth Program Quality Assessment, University of Louisville CHAMPS Facilitation & 4 Your Child Fatherhood Facilitation. Arthur is a graduate of Focus Louisville. He has completed the Center for Non-Profit Excellence Emerging Leaders program and is a part of the 2015 Graduating class of the Leadership Network. He’s a part of the Executives Leadership Circle recognized by the Center for Non Profit Excellence. Prior to his role at St. George’s, Arthur worked with Youth Alive, YMCA, and The Louisville Youth Opportunity Network (LYON). Arthur is a home base business owner and empowers others to do the same. In his leisure time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his Fiance Sha’Da and his three beautiful children, Omari and Aniyah and Sha’Corey.
