Rashaad Abdur-Rahman

Rashaad is a social worker and behavioral health professional with experience in leadership, education, and community service. He received his Bachelor’s in Psychology from Berea College, and his Masters in Science and Social Work from the University of Louisville’s Kent School of Social Work in 2008. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Social Work at Spalding University. Rashaad has worked to lead city-wide efforts to reduce community violence, promote racial equity, support youth, and center responses to trauma. He has been in the field of child and family mental health services since 2004 in various roles as a direct care counselor, case manager, therapist, consultant, trainer, supervisor, etc. In addition, Rashaad spends time volunteering with the Race Community and Child Welfare Advisory Board, participates in various boards such as the Coalition Supporting Young Adults and the Black Male Achievement Roundtable. He has been an adjunct professor at Spalding University, and guest lecturer at Berea College, Western Governors University, and the University of Kentucky. Rashaad believes deeply in the power of community and that in order to foster a transformative society; we must work tirelessly to secure racial, economic, and social justice.

T. RASHAD BYRDSONG – Founder and Chief Executive Officer of a unique community-based organization, Community Empowerment Association (CEA), has successfully expanded a $5,000 agency to over $2 million annually. In addition, as President of MA’AT Construction Group, he has created enterprises as economic generators through employment, training and investment back to targeted underserved Black communities. In service to its targeted communities for over 25 years, CEA has hired over 500 employees, worked with over 20,000 youth and trained over 500 persons through his Construction Industry Training Program. Mr. Byrdsong created a comprehensive Public Health Approach to Violence Reduction for Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. This approach has been presented throughout Allegheny County and calls for a paradigm shift that views violence as a preventable social disease. A noted national and international speaker/presenter about the work of CEA, and recipient of numerous professional awards for his work and ongoing commitment to empowering the lives of African Americans, he has co-authored four articles Afrocentric Intervention Paradigm: An Overview of Successful Application by a Grassroots Organization, (Journal of Human Behavior in the Social Environment, 2013), Suggested Paradigm For Violence Reduction: A Community-based Public Health Approach, (Journal of Evidence-Based Social Work, 2015, Historical Overview of Black Suffering in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA: Depth of Contemporary Social Work Challenges, (International Journal of Social Work, 2017), and Drug Abuse Trend and Profile of Current Social Crisis (HSOA Journal of Addiction & Addictive Disorders, 2019).

Rashad Thomas

Rashad D. Thomas is the Vice President of Business Connect and Legacy Projects for the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee. In this role he is responsible for identifying and connecting South Florida’s local diverse business community to contracting opportunities related to Super Bowl LIV. Mr. Thomas, is a Bethune-Cookman University graduate, has served in various capacities in Miami-Dade County government for 16 years. He began his career with Miami-Dade County as a Community Organizer and has held several positions in Miami-Dade County government focused on community and human services. Prior to his role at the Super Bowl Host Committee, Mr. Thomas served in the Miami-Dade County Mayor’s office as an Assistant to the Deputy Mayor where he was responsible for policy, legislative affairs, and special projects for a portfolio including Public Housing and Community Development, Community Action and Human Services, Homeless Trust, and Juvenile Services. Mr. Thomas, is also an entrepreneur and the owner of three mobile concession bistros. You can always find his bistros at the park where he coach’s football, basketball, and t-ball. Rashad is a Bethune-Cookman University 40 Under 40 2018 award recipient, South Florida Legacy Magazine 40 Under 40 2018 award recipient, South Florida’s 50 Most Powerful and Influential Business Leaders of 2019 and a 2018/2019 finalist for the FIU Emerging Leader award. A Miami native, Rashad is married to Shannon Thomas and the proud father of three boys. Rashad is proud to be a part of the Super Bowl LIV Host Committee.

My name is Robin Gamble. I am a problem solver ,artist, a photographer, an entrepreneur and a social justice advocate. I have a successful consulting company that focuses on leadership and development, change management, and strategic planning. I also have a photography company that evolved from my consulting company. I received my Masters in Industrial Organizational Psychology, Bachelors Degree in Radiation Therapy and Human Resource Management, as well as Associates in Corrections. My mission is educating people to become a better version of themselves, coaching organizations on change management, building revenue. I serve currently as the project manager for Focus: HOPE, one of Michigan’s most trusted anti-racism agencies. In this role, I provide a range of services, including fundraising, offering affordable and centrally located event space for the community, and coordinating an art-based community leadership program for youth. I am a proud and devoted mom and grandmother. I’ve been told I don’t look it My children are on track for becoming the best the world. They are my magnum opus, to say that I am proud of them barely covers it.

Rudy Spencer is the Chief Development Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. He is responsible for the non-profit’s fundraising operations, and recruitment of Bigs (adult mentors) and Littles (youth mentees). Rudy’s professional career includes a variety of customer experience operations positions, and senior leadership positions in small business (construction, administration and telecommunications). Rudy is known for his passion to inspire people to invest in their community. Prior to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rudy was the 2018 Vice Chair for Metro United Way’s annual fundraising campaign, which raised $26.3 million for 7 counties in Kentuckiana. He also co-founded a giving circle called Give 502, which has donated to over $100,000 to non-profit organizations in 5 years. Rudy earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, where he was Student Body President & a Board of Trustees member. In 2012 Rudy earned a Master of Social Work (Management, Social Policy & Evaluation) from the University of Michigan, and he was selected as Student of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers – Michigan Chapter. Rudy is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and he has a certificate in Decision Quality from the Strategic Decisions Group. Rudy’s leadership has been recognized in the Louisville community. He’s received the prestigious Forty Under 40 award from Business First – Louisville, been named a Fund for the Arts NeXt!
