Publicist
The publicist reports directly to the CEO and plays the lead role in raising visibility of the BMe Vanguard honorees, BMe’s CEO and exemplary BMe Asset-Framing clients. This includes visibility in media and conferences that philanthropic sector leaders respect. The successful candidate has a keen understanding of the nonprofit sector and is personally excited to tell stories of remarkable people whose positive attitudes and actions make the world a better place.
- Develop and implement effective publicity plans tailored to promote BMe Vanguard and the organization’s leadership programs and training clients.
- Compose press releases and proactively pitch stories and ideas to media outlets, highlighting the impact of the organization, its BMe Vanguard and Asset-Framing client
- Secure publicity opportunities, including speaking engagements, appearances, interviews, and content collaborations with associations and publications.
- Draft talking points and assist team members in preparing for press visits, conferences, interviews, and other public appearances.
- Cultivate and maintain successful relationships with media, ensuring BMe’s representation in a positive and impactful light.
- Oversee BMe’s social media activity, ensuring consistent messaging and positive engagement.
- Manage daily media relations and liaise with other platforms to promote BMe and its initiatives.
- Champion BMe’s image and mission, ensuring consistent and positive representation in the public domain.
- Track coverage and create recap reports.
- Strong preference for candidates whose clips and work products illustrate their effectiveness..
- 5+ years experience in the nonprofit sector a plus.
- Impeccable verbal and written communication skills and ability to successfully pitch stories and deals.
- Excellent multitasking abilities, adaptability, and a keen sense of time management.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
The Communications Director reports directly to the CEO, is a member of the senior management team, and acts as the in-house communications expert offering solutions to all aspects of BMe Community programs. The Communications Director will work closely with senior leaders to develop and implement the organization’s communication strategy. The Director will manage brand identity and oversee all public-facing content production and execution including digital and social media campaigns, and manage the day-to-day communication’s operations. The Director will create content for and support BMe Community’s organization wide and programmatic fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate is highly agile, creative, has demonstrated problem solving abilities, and has managed multiple communication priorities simultaneously. The Communications Director will thrive in a start-up environment and will formalize communications processes to expand visibility while enhancing member experience and efficacy of the communications team.

Position

Key Responsibilities
- Use BMe’s existing market research to develop and implement a multi-channel communications and marketing strategy to achieve organizational and membership goals.
- Collaborate with teams across the organization; keeping a pulse on current and future happenings to amplify programs, projects, and campaigns.
- Manage the editorial and content calendar, planning all content in a systematic manner.
- Work with CEO to plan and execute communications for the organization’s fundraising campaigns and donor cultivation.
- Branding: Increase BMe visibility in social impact field and maintain its attractiveness.
- Members: Set up and direct BMe’s communications with members, allies, and the public.
- Management: Organize and manage BMe assets, style-guide, content, content producers and campaigns. Manage communications team ensuring efficacy and quality of work.
- Web: Direct and maintain all BMe web and social media properties.
- Budget: Manage media budgets for maximum efficiency and impact.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has a strong personal commitment to seeing black people as assets to society; prides themselves on their organization and effectiveness; is talented, collaborative, optimistic, and authentic.
- Experience creating attention-grabbing campaigns and products.
- Experience creating and executing a communications strategy for impact organizations with fundraising priorities.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and editing skills.
- Must be an agile thinker and able to seize opportunities presented by daily news and events.
- Experience hiring, evaluating, and working with communications firms.
- Experience as a publicist a plus.
Compensation
$75,000 – $85,000 with benefits.

MEMBER EXPERIENCES ASSOCIATE
The Experiences Manager will focus on providing meaningful experiences, communications, products, and services that help individual and institutional members to remain informed and engaged in BMe Community.

Position
The Program Associates provide administrative and program support for our BMe Vanguard program. Working closely with our Sr. Experiences Manager and our Managing Director, the Program Associates have regular contact with program participants and keep member records up to date, track their progress on self-care goals, share resources and opportunities, and digitally introduce members to one another. They also support event logistics including working with Sr. Experiences Manager to secure speakers, travel, and venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Get to know each class of 20-35 BMe Vanguard participants
- Stay up to date on BMe Vanguard need and opportunities
- Keep all records up to date
- Host occasional video gatherings of BMe Vanguard
- Work with managers to support events and BMe Vanguard engagement
- Ensure that BMe Vanguard and past participants feel personally and professionally supported
Qualifications
- Meticulous record keeper
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Able to travel on behalf of the company
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Completes tasks without needing to be reminded
- Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and using web databases
- Experience creating digital newsletters or using project management tools a plus
