Rudy Spencer is the Chief Development Officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kentuckiana. He is responsible for the non-profit’s fundraising operations, and recruitment of Bigs (adult mentors) and Littles (youth mentees). Rudy’s professional career includes a variety of customer experience operations positions, and senior leadership positions in small business (construction, administration and telecommunications). Rudy is known for his passion to inspire people to invest in their community. Prior to Big Brothers Big Sisters, Rudy was the 2018 Vice Chair for Metro United Way’s annual fundraising campaign, which raised $26.3 million for 7 counties in Kentuckiana. He also co-founded a giving circle called Give 502, which has donated to over $100,000 to non-profit organizations in 5 years. Rudy earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, where he was Student Body President & a Board of Trustees member. In 2012 Rudy earned a Master of Social Work (Management, Social Policy & Evaluation) from the University of Michigan, and he was selected as Student of the Year by the National Association of Social Workers – Michigan Chapter. Rudy is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and he has a certificate in Decision Quality from the Strategic Decisions Group. Rudy’s leadership has been recognized in the Louisville community. He’s received the prestigious Forty Under 40 award from Business First – Louisville, been named a Fund for the Arts NeXt! Arts Ambassador , L.E.A.D. Greater Louisville Inc. (economic development) graduate, and Young Professional of the Year by the Young Professionals Association of Louisville.
